Thanks to Lauren at Forward is a Pace and her quest to be “neat,” I have become inspired to organize areas of our house that we have been neglecting. The funny thing about this, is that I actually consider myself to be an organized person. Before Brennen everything was orderly and tidy, fast forward three and a half years later, I now have “hidden” areas of my house that are just the opposite of that.
So far I have organized our shed so that our lawn equipment AND some of Brennen’s outdoor toys can be stowed away when not in use. It is a beautiful thing to not see so many toys cluttering up our backyard.
We have also started organizing our basement. It is still a work in progress as it became a dumping ground for the “do we need this, do we not need this” items that we were hesitant to part with.
One of the perks of tackling an organization project is that you never know what you might find. Brennen was excited when we came across a bin of my old toys. His “presents” include lots of books, stuffed animals, barbies, a Joey doll from NKOTB and trolls. I think we are going to let him keep his treasures.
And although we still have a lot of work ahead of us to get our home completely organized, I feel like I can breathe easier due to the small dent we have made in our clutter.
AHHHHH . . . it feels good!
