Today I am finally revealing the customized shirt that I will be wearing when I compete in the Tough Mudder race in April of 2012.!!! You may remember that I was debating between two options and thus decided to leave the decision up to you, the readers of my blog. I am surprised to report that the winning shirt had 76% of the votes!
So without further ado, the shirt that I will be wearing is . . .
I think you guys made a great choice! I am very much looking forward to wearing it!
Now I need your help to fill the back of the shirt with names of service men and women! For every $5 you donate to my Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser, you can give me the name of a service man or woman who you would like me to race in honor of or in remembrance of. The person’s name will be printed on the back of my shirt and I will proudly race in honor of each and every person listed. Keep in mind that I am not looking just for wounded service people, I want to honor all service men and women alike. Please click here to donate to my fundraiser and don’t forget to email me at email@example.com with the name or names of the people you would like to have added to the shirt.
I can guarantee you that I will be posting a LOT more fundraising posts in the future as I have some great ideas up my sleeve. Several of them I have stolen from Lauren at Forward is a Pace. She wrote a terrific blog post about her fundraising efforts for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. If you are fundraising for anything, I would recommend that you check out her blog post by clicking here, for some fantastic ideas!
In the meantime, my focus is on rallying for votes to help me win a grant from Refuel with Chocolate Milk. You may have heard me mention this a time or two over the last few weeks. 😉 If I win the grant, I will be donating half of it ($125) to my fundraiser for WWP! That’s a lot of money and it will result in a lot of help to people who deserve it. So please, click HERE to vote for me, Betsy Moats, to win the grant! You can vote for me once a day from each computer you have. Ask your friends, family, co-workers and strangers to vote for me too! It is for a great cause! Thank you so much for your votes and support!!!
Lastly, I would like to end this post with a heart warming story that continues to bring a smile to my face and tears to me eyes. A co-worker donated $30 to my Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser in the name of her two girls. (Her husband & their dad is in the army.) She told me that each girl donated $10 of THEIR OWN money!!! The youngest, Lara, who is in kindergarten asked her mom if she could borrow $100 to donate and that she would pay her back when she got a job! I thought that was truly touching! I would love to hep Lara donate $100! Can you help? Can someone donate $90 in her name or can 9 people donate $10 in her name? Let’s show her that not only do we support our troops but their families as well! Here is the link to my fundraiser page! https://www.raceit.com/fundraising/Fundraise.aspx?event=6263&fundraiser=3390 Together we can help Lara donate $100!!!
