As you could probably tell from my Wordless Wednesday post this week, I am still on a high from my trip with Mr. Sarcastic and Brennen! To continue that momentum I figured I would share 5 more things about our trip that was left out of the initial recap.
1. On THE DAY OF our trip it occurred to me that Mr. Sarcastic was allergic to cats. We had planned on staying at my Mom’s house and she has not one, not two, not three but FOUR cats! Geeeeze, what kind of girlfriend am I??? We ended up staying at my Aunt’s house instead. She has one cat and despite allergy meds, it still wrecked havoc on Mr. Sarcastic’s system. Can you believe we are still together after that oversight? 😉
2. On our
refreshing exhausting tour of Mackinaw Island, we decided to visit skull cave. I expected the cave to LOOK like a skull. But it looked like this.
Evidently the name skull cave comes from it being used as a place to house human remains in the 18th century. Silly me! Maybe I am a fudgie after all!
3. Speaking of being a fudgie. We visited every fudge and souvenir shop on both Mackinaw Island and in Mackinaw City! And guess what my son wanted??? No not a toy….a back scratcher! Weird right?! But it was CHEAP! I think I won in this situation. (He has since broken the back scratcher. During a tantrum he threw it against the wall and it broke. Which made him cry even more. It reminded me of something that I did when I was a kid. I had tried to get back at my brother for something he did to me so I pulled the head off of a doll he got me for Christmas. Turns out that hurt me more than him. But I digress.)
4. Brennen ate a bite of a chicken tender and two pieces of pizza!! This may not seem like a big deal to you, but my kid is PICKY! He typically only eats nuggets. You know because processed chicken is waaaay better than real chicken. 😉 And he only eats “school pizza” because ummmm I don’t really know why. I was super excited when he went outside of his food box!
5. We came home with LOTS of rocks. Not the elusive Petoskey stone. But lots of other pretty ones and a big one for Mr. Sarcastic’s garden. Now we have decided we need to get a rock from each place we visit as a memento. San Francisco, you are up next!
Do you have anything you want to share? I’m all ears!
