You read that right. I’m lacking motivation right now. It happened shortly after the Nike Women’s Half Marathon and has been going strong ever since.
I’ve tried looking for my motivation here.
And even on my Pinterest board appropriately titled “Motivation.” (There is even a picture of Luke Bryan on that board. Go look, I’ll wait. It’s so worth it.)
Despite all my searching, I am still lacking motivation.
It’s not that I haven’t been running or working out at all, it’s just that I haven’t been as excited about it and it hasn’t been to the level that I am used to.
I know that this is a common occurrence after big races. I spent so much time talking, thinking and working towards the Nike half, it’s natural to feel disappointed now that it is over. My next big race is a half marathon in March so once I start training for that I am sure I will be motivated again.
I also partly blame the time of the year for my lack of motivation. It gets dark so early in the evening now and the weather (although mild for Michigan) is just so dreary. That doesn’t exactly inspire me to want to workout.
I’m thinking I need to change-up my workout routine to make it more interesting so I can get my motivation back sooner rather than later!
What do you do to stay motivated?
