Life-is-change_-Life-changes-quotes

If I had to describe 2012 in one word it would be ……. CHANGE! I definitely went through a lot of change. That change resulted in a lot of growth and that growth has only made me happier.

Let’s walk down memory lane together and look at some of my highlights from 2012, shall we?

January

In January little B turned 4! So sad that he is not a baby anymore. Ok, not really but it’s hard to believe that he is a little boy now.

I also gave myself the biggest expression of self-love ever. I moved out on my own and started the process of becoming single once again. This was a huge change in my life and one that has brought a lot of ups and downs but ultimately has been the best decision for me. It also became the first time that I ever lived on my own! (Not counting Little B, of course.)

February

This month was a month of transitioning from my old life and starting my new one. Lots of physical and mental unpacking happened.

March

I was coerced into joining a dating site and I met Mr. Sarcastic! We also went on our first date this month!

I got a half marathon PR at the Rock CF Rivers Half when I unexpectedly switched from the half marathon relay to the half marathon!

April

I ran my first Tough Mudder and in the process met some amazing people who I now consider to be my friends! I also found out that I won the lottery. The Nike Women’s Marathon lottery that is.

Mr. Sarcastic and I became an “official” couple. <3

May

Mr. Sarcastic met Little B for the first time over Memorial weekend and it turned out great! Oh and I didn’t have to work on Memorial Day for the first time in YEARS!

June

Mr. Sarcastic had a birthday! He had the most awesomest birthday week ever because well, I’m an awesome girlfriend.

I also saw Brad Paisley in concert with a friend that I have known forever!

July

I turned 33 and had an amazingly fantastic birthday week thanks to my super sweet and very sarcastic boyfriend.

I ran my 2nd Warrior Dash!

August

Mr. Sarcastic, Little B and I took our first trip together. It wasn’t perfect but lots of good memories were made nonetheless.

I won a free entry into the Down & Dirty Mud run and had a lot of fun getting muddy.

My blog became self hosted in this month as well thanks to Mr. Sarcastic. And lucky for you, this move motivated me to post more often.

September

Mr. Sarcastic and I went to the Arts, Beats & Eats festival for the first time! My mouth still waters when I think about all the yummy food we had!

I scratched another race off of my bucket list and got another shiny PR when I ran the Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo 5k.

October

Mr. Sarcastic and I celebrated our six month dating anniversary! (Yes, I am one of those people who celebrates silly milestones.) We also went to San Francisco together where I conquered the hills of San Francisco and ran the Nike Women’s Half Marathon!

My divorce was finalized!

I got to enjoy Halloween with my favorite superhero.

November

I wrote a very controversial blog post which became my most viewed post since I became self hosted.

I was picked to be a juror on a criminal case and actually enjoyed being part of the process.

I ran the Detroit Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving and survived my first holiday without Little B.

December

I was introduced to Syphus Training and started my own happiness project.

I had an amazing Christmas and I rang in the New Year with  lots of anticipation of what 2013 holds for me!

This list doesn’t take into account all of the little things that I experienced in 2012. Things like hearing Little B laugh, holding hands with Mr. Sarcastic, the talks I had with my bff and the enjoyment of running in the sunshine. Those little things matter just as much, if not more than all the big things that I experienced.

And now that 2013 is here, I am ready and excited for all the little and big things that are ahead of me.

What little and big thing stands out most for you from 2012?
