Before I get to my 2013 running goals, let’s take a look at how I did on my goals for 2012.
Complete a Tough Mudder - Done! I completed the Ohio Tough Mudder with a group of badass people. In all honesty, I was scared to death but I lived to tell about it and had a great time in the process!
PR the heck out of my 5k time – Done! I ran the Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo 5k in 26:33. My previous 5k PR was 32:42, so yeah I definitely PR’d the heck out of that 5k!
Complete another half marathon – Done! I did two of them last year actually! I ran the Rock CF Rivers Half and the Nike Women’s Half! Both were great fun!
And now here are my goals for 2013!
Complete two Tough Mudders! - I am signed up for the Ohio Tough Mudder in April and the Michigan Tough Mudder in June! Yay for more orange headbands!
Run my first trail half marathon – I am signed up for the North Country Run in August and I am also considering signing up for The Hungerford Games half marathon in September. I’ve never done two half marathon in two months, so we’ll see.
Volunteer at a race - I got this idea from a Twitter friend and thought it was a great idea! I have benefited tremendously from all the volunteers at the races I have been to so now it’s my turn to give back.
What are your running / fitness goals for 2013?

Im going to LEARN HOW TO DO PILATES
properly.
and finally
Ah, I love Pilates!
I’m trying to get and stay healthy.
I know you will!
Sounds like fun goals, especially the trail half. And volunteering at a race is really, really fun. You’ll love it!
Great goals! I’ve been meaning to get a trail or cross country race in for awhile… maybe 2013 will be the year I do it!
Do it!
Volunteering is a lot of fun! My running group does a water stop at a marathon and I love the noise we make up there! When you call out the runner’s name (from their Bibs) and they look up with a surprise that someone called, and then realize its a volunteer cheering them on – priceless!
That’s awesome!
I’m going to FINALLY hit my weight loss goal and I’m going to train for my first full marathon!
Yay!
Awesome goals!!! I love how you went from hating mud runs before you ran warrior dash to Being addicted to tough mudder!! My goals for this year: run my first full marathon
Isn’t that crazy?! Just proves you never know until you try! So excited for you to run your first full!
One of my goals is to just finish my first 1/2 Ironman. I just want to finish it and feel like I did the very best I could. Another goal I have is to be able to run the entire 10k portion of an Olympic distance triathlon.
Great goals Ara!
