One of my goals this month was to cross something off of my bucket list. Well guess what? My friend invited me to a free Zumba class at the dance studio she goes to so of course I HAD to do it!
As ridiculous as this might sound, I had no idea what to wear to Zumba. Ask me to go running or go to the gym and I know exactly what to wear but Zumba is a whole different story. I mean it is a workout / dance party in one! My friend warned me against wearing my running shoes to Zumba as shoes with traction tend to stick to the floor making it difficult to do some of the moves. This significantly reduced the number of available shoes I had for class! I ended up going with my Ahnu shoes that I wore on my San Francisco trip. And for my outfit? I went with something fun and easy to move in.
The class turned out to be a ton of fun! There were definitely some moments when I was totally lost but for the most part I was able to catch on to the moves and just enjoy myself. The instructor was upbeat and perky; everything that you would want in a Zumba instructor. There was a wide variety of women there and it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves and getting something out of the experience!
I would definitely do Zumba again, although it is probably not something I will do on a regular basis mostly because the nights I don’t have Little B are usually reserved for running and I am not willing to give up my running time.
Have you ever done Zumba? What did you think of it?

Girl when I went to Zumba for the first time … I almost peed my pants because I couldn’t stop laughing. My hips just don’t move like they want them too. It was fun but I have never been back! I stick to the workouts that will not make me pee
Lol please go again and I will go with you!
I shall try zumba in the very near future!
It’s fun to mix things up!
I had a Zumba DVD from the library and the moves were fun and do-able but the music was quite awful. Perhaps I can find some other one! glad you liked it.
The music at the class was pretty good, I thought.
I love Zumba! But the first few times I didn’t like it that much, it’s becauseof the instructor. You have to make sure you have the right one. I’ve had Zumba hwere I loved it sooo much and had times where it sucked. I’m glad you went and had a good time!
I can see that, the instrcutor is def key!
Zumba is definitely on my bucket list, but maybe I will try it at out home first
Lol I am sure you would do great Kelly!
I teach Zumba, my 3 year “teachaversary” (if that’s even a word!) is next month. Glad you tried it! It’s a fun way to shake up your routine – and your booty!
That’s awesome! Congrats on your teachaversary!
I’ve been to zumba once before. It was al of fun! It’s tough…especially if you’re uncoordinated like me.
But, it’s fun. I want to go again, but training for a 1/2 Ironman is taking up most of my time right now.
Yep, I know what you mean. Race training comes first!
