So I’ve decided to start recapping my workouts from each week here on my blog. Mostly to hold myself accountable and also so I can share with you the ups and downs that come with training. So here goes!
Sunday – Rest day!
Monday – I ran 4 miles on the treadmill in 44 minutes. Prior to this run, I hadn’t been running or working out consistently because being sick, work, life, stress etc were getting in the way.
Tuesday – If felt so good to run on Monday, I was determined to fit a run in today too! My only option was to run before work. Ick! But I did it! I set my alarm for 4a.m and got 2 miles done in 20 minutes. I was happy I did it but I definitely don’t want to make it a habit of working out that early. lol
Wednesday – I tried Zumba for the first time! It was a one hour class that left me wide awake at 9pm and it also made me want to head out to a club to hit the dance floor so I could keep shaking my booty.
Thursday – I did an Insanity DVD! I love Insanity! It is a tough workout and I can do it without leaving my home. The 5-year-old even joined it for part of the workout!
Friday – I did a Pilates DVD and a 20 minute strength workout. My legs were already sore from the Insanity workout and when I finished today’s strength training session my arms were sore too!
Saturday – Rest day! I tend to keep Saturdays as rest days so that I am able to go out and live a little on Friday nights if I choose to.
Total running miles: 6
Total time spent working out: 3 hours 20 minutes
Proudest Moment: Dragging my butt out of bed at 4am when I would rather have hit snooze till I needed to get up for work!
Right now I am training for a half marathon in March. I’m a little behind in my training but I’ve decided not to stress about it. There are bigger things in life to worry about than that.

How did your training go last week? What are you most proud of?

Im so so so proud of my ability to listen to my bod and REST last week.
and glad it’s a new week
I’d love to try Zumba this year. I will put it on the list of things to do!
Zumba is definitely on my to try list!
I’m not a dancer – I lift weights – but Zumba has me realllly curious!
Great job Betsy! That’s awesome you were able to get out of bed that early. I struggle getting out of bed in the mornings. My workouts went pretty well last week. I didn’t miss any workouts, so that’s good.
I love Winsor Pilates! Have you tried Barre3? Their DVD is great, too.
I haven’t! I will have to check it out!
