Ok, it is time for me to fill you in on the rest of my Florida trip. (I know some of you might be wanting to know about my Tough Mudder so I will give you a small hint: it didn’t go according to plan. More on that in a later post.)
In case you missed the first post about Day #1 in Florida, click here.
After visiting the seaquarium Chris and I headed to Biscayne Bay for a sightseeing cruise on Island Queen Cruises. Traffic was awful and parking was scarce and expensive. Of course we didn’t have any cash on us and most of the parking areas were cash only. I was “lucky” enough to stumble upon a parking structure where the attendant told me “for you, I take credit card.” Between his limited English and our limited Spanish I was slightly concerned about what we were getting ourselves into, the lot clearly had a sign that said “cash only” but we took a chance.
On the cruise we got to see the Miami skyline, the Port of Miami, Fisher Island, Miami Beach and “Millionaire’s Row” where some celebrities have homes.
I do have to mention that our guide for the boat cruise was AWESOME! He was very entertaining, informative and knowledgeable about the area. He made the cruise extra special!
After the cruise we walked around through the shops and then got some dinner at restaurant overlooking the water. Chris and I both got the exact same salad and it was SO YUMMY!
Once dinner was in our tummies we happily retrieved our car (all was well and nothing happened with my credit card, yay!) and headed to our hotel to check in.
We stayed at Turnberry Isle in Aventura which is an AMAZING resort!
Phew! I am exhausted from Day #1 just from blogging about it. Now you know why I had to do it in two posts! Day #2 in Florida was a Betsy day, so you will find out what I like to do on vacation! Not that I didn’t enjoy Chris’s day but if every day was a Chris day I would need a vacation from my vacation! 😉
