I haven’t quite finished reading Healthy You! by Dawna Stone but I have enjoyed it so much so far that I couldn’t wait to tell you about it. Healthy You! is about a 14 day program designed by Dawna to help you lose weight or simply help you integrate healthier eating habits into your life.
This book could not have come at a better time for me. In the last few months I have gotten off track due to house hunting, packing, moving, unpacking, house projects etc etc. What I like about the program is that it is simple! The first week of the program is called the Elimination Phase where each day you eliminate a specific food from your diet. The second week of the program is called the Clean Phase where you continue to avoid the eliminated foods from week one and eat cleanly. The book even provides a meal plan and recipes! (See, I told you it was easy.)
I personally like the idea of gradually eliminating certain foods from my diet so I have a better idea of how my body responds to them. I think this will help me be more in tune with my body and allow me to pick foods that are not only good for me but also make me FEEL good.
Another great thing about this program is that it is easy to integrate into your life long-term. Once the two-week program ends you can decide what (if any) eliminated foods you want to re-introduce into your diet and you will also be able to have occasional splurges so that you will not feel deprived. Nobody wants to feel deprived or that certain foods are always off-limits.
