Disclosure: I received something of value for attending the blogger meet-up. However, I was not compensated in any way for this post nor was I required to write a post. All opinions are my own.
Over the weekend I attended a blogger meet-up hosted at a local Comcast Infinity store. Technically the meet-up was for food bloggers, which if you follow my blog, you know I am not. But I do like food and as a runner I am always rungry so I felt it was fitting that I attend. Plus, there were a lot of local bloggers attending that I wanted to meet in real life. It was a win win.
The purpose of the meet-up was to watch the premier of the Holiday Baking Championship on the Food Network. In addition to watching the premier we also had the option of participating in a cookie baking contest. And I certainly did participate…..by eating all the cookies that is, as a baker I am not.
This was my first trip to the Comcast Infinity store and it blew me away. It certainly isn’t your typical cable store as it is very relaxed and technologically friendly. I may have to give Comcast another look as after hearing about their X1 platform I was wishing that I had it at my house. It seems like a very intuitive system with lots of extras that other companies just don’t offer.
Comcast went above and beyond in taking care of us throughout the event. In addition to the cookies brought in by the bloggers, Comcast had a snack table filled with some health snacks and even a coffee cart where you could get a made to order coffee drink or a fruit smoothie. And best of all we got an awesome goodie bag that include some Comcast goodies, a Food Network Magazine, a Tervis tumbler, a box of Cornbread Beer Bread Mix from Boardwalk Food Company and a packet of Dark Chocolate Dreams from Peanut Butter & Co. I was feeling quite spoiled all night!
I did enjoy watching the premier of the Holiday Baking Championship as it was fun to see all of the cookie creations that they came up with. The people on that show are quite talented! And a couple of them were snazzy dressers too! (Leave it to me to notice clothes while watching a baking show.)
Overall it was a great night and I look forward to future blogger meet-ups!
