I think one of the main reasons that I became a runner was because I could do it anywhere. I didn’t need (and still don’t need) any fancy equipment or a gym membership to get a run in. It was something I could do for me on my own time.
As I became a more experienced runner I recognized the importance of adding cross training into my workout regimen and like running, I preferred my cross training to be something I could do at my convenience and without a large financial investment. Because of those preferences I tend to do a lot of my cross training at home and I often turn to workout programs on DVD.
For the last 30 days, I have been testing out a workout program called Fé Fit. It is a workout program that is geared towards women and more specifically Moms. It is a 90 day program that includes 8 discs with 28 different workouts that encompasses seven different fitness genres. The program can be done in as little as 3 times a week or up to 5 times a week and each workout is 30 minutes long.
The basic program is $139.99 through Amazon (which is what I received) and in addition to the discs that I mentioned, it includes a user guide and a 90 day calendar to keep track of your progress. There is also a deluxe program which is $199.99 through Amazon and it includes everything found in the basic program PLUS a Pilates toning circle and a set of resistance bands which are needed for the program.
Other than a Pilates circle (or yoga ball) and a set of resistance bands, you will also need a set of light weight dumbbells and an exercise mat. Luckily I already had all of the required equipment and I would wager that you probably do as well.
Before receiving this workout program to review I had never heard of it so I didn’t know what to expect. Going into it I had read that it was heavily geared towards Moms so I honestly thought that the program was not going to be much of a challenge. I was wrong! It is definitely a challenge and a great workout!
That’s not to say that someone who is in the beginning stages of their workout journey (or someone who has recently had a baby) couldn’t do the program. They absolutely can as there are modifications available for each each part of the workout program to suit your ability.
What I liked most about the Fé Fit program was the variety. As I mentioned, the program includes aspects from seven different fitness genres. The variety kept it fresh and interesting. It also helped to challenge my body in ways that it hadn’t been before.
There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the program but I recognize that some people may be deterred by the “Mom talk” that is prevalent throughout the program. The instructor often says motivational things about being a tough Mom and how we owe it to ourselves to take care of ourselves like we take care of our kids. The Mom talk didn’t bother me. It is a program geared towards Moms after all. Although I do think that it is a great workout program for women who are not Moms too and even for men.
I am looking forward to finishing the Fé Fit 90 day program and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a workout program that you can do at home!
