It’s race weekend again!
This time around I will be doing part one of the Serious Series….. the Trail Half Marathon. This is a race that is put on by Running Fit and is sponsored by Absopure. This is not a sponsored race, I paid for it all on my own quite some time ago, but I am happy to spread the love of two companies I think do a lot of good in the Detroit area and in the running community!
Technically the race is called the Trail Marathon but it includes a 5 mile run, a half marathon, a full marathon and a 50k. You can also sign up for their No Wimps Challenge and run both the half marathon and the marathon or 50k for some extra bragging rights and race swag. The half marathon is on Saturday and the other events are on Sunday so it’s not like you have to run two races in one day, just two in one weekend. No biggie, right? I will not be doing the No Wimps Challenge so props to those that are.
The race takes place on the Potowatami Trail in the Pinckney Recreation Area. I’ve never done this race nor have I ever ran on the Poto but it has a reputation for kicking runners asses with its hilly terrain. Here’s a look at the course and the elevation information that was provided by Running Fit.
It probably goes without saying that my main goal is just to finish and not die as that it one tough course!
As always, I will be back with a full recap next week!
Anyone else running one of the Trail Marathon races?
Or doing anything else fun this weekend? I want to hear about it!
