I am calling this fix my Birthday fix since I just turned the big 36 this past Saturday!
In case you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, let me bring you up to speed. Stitch Fix is a monthly subscription service (although you don’t have to get one every month, you pick how often) that sends you clothes and accessories based on a style profile that you fill out. You can keep what you like and send back what you don’t. There is a $20 styling fee but if you keep any of the items, the $20 fee is deducted from the total purchase price of the item(s) you keep. If you keep all 5 of the items from your fix you receive a 25% discount on EVERYTHING. Basically it is like playing dress up as an adult…..and it is both fun and addicting! Every month you can also leave a note for your stylist. So if you have an event that you need some clothes for or if you just have an idea of what kind of pieces you want to add to your wardrobe you can pass that information along!
This month I told my stylist Diana that I wanted to feel fabulous for my birthday, so let’s take a look at what she sent me!
Item #1: Skies are Blue Krishna Cutout Detail Top
The Skies are Blue brand tends to always be a winner for me and this top is no exception. I found the fit to be very flattering and I liked the cut out details. I also liked that it is easily dressed up or down and I love pieces that can pull double duty like that!
Cost to Keep: $44.00
Item #2: Level 99 Lillian Distressed Crop Skinny Jeans
I’ve been wanting a pair of white skinnies for a while now so I was excited to see them in my birthday fix! They fit like a glove and are incredibly soft and comfortable.
Since the pants were a bit of an investment item, I did do some internet price checking and I couldn’t find the same pants cheaper anywhere else. But I did find them more expensive elsewhere, so based on their quality and my price checking, I decided they were a keeper.
Cost to Keep: $98.00
Item #3: Le Lis Striped Dress
I wear dresses and skirts all the time now that the weather is halfway decent so I am always happy to get one or the other in my fix. This dress is very soft and the material is textured and light weight.
Once I put it on I thought it was just okay. I liked it but wasn’t in love with it. So since my rule is I can only keep what I love, the dress was sent back.
Cost to Keep: $74.00
Item #4: 19 Cooper Arset Tassel Halter Top
I wasn’t feeling this top when I first pulled it out of the box. The tassel look is not something that I care for.
Despite not being a big fan of the shirt, I still tried it on as I do with everything I receive because you never know. Unfortunately, my opinion did not change once I put it on. The shirt is just not me.
Cost to Keep: $48.00
Item #5: 19 Cooper Camio Wrap Tie Blouse
As a general rule, I am not a fan of wrap style clothing because I don’t feel like I fill out the top enough and that is how I felt in this shirt as well. I did like that it accented my waist but that wasn’t enough of a perk to make me want to keep it.
Cost to Keep: $58.00
Although I got two items that I really liked, I have to admit that I am a tad disappointed in this fix. Being that I had expressed that it would be my birthday fix I was hoping for pieces that were a little more fun and fabulous feeling.
Despite that, since this is my 12th fix, I know that some fixes are great and some are just so-so. I also know that the feedback I give about the items I didn’t keep this time will make my future fixes even better!
