It seems like it has been forever since my last fix! I rescheduled this month’s for the middle of the month instead of the beginning of the month like I normally get it because we were in Disney for the Wine & Dine. So at least it was for a happy reason that my fix is a bit later than normal.
In case you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, let me bring you up to speed. Stitch Fix is a monthly subscription service (although you don’t have to get one every month, you pick how often) that sends you clothes and accessories based on a style profile that you fill out. You can keep what you like and send back what you don’t. There is a $20 styling fee but if you keep any of the items, the $20 fee is deducted from the total purchase price of the item(s) you keep. If you keep all 5 of the items from your fix you receive a 25% discount on EVERYTHING. Basically it is like playing dress up as an adult…..and it is both fun and addicting! Every month you can also leave a note for your stylist. So if you have an event that you need some clothes for or if you just have an idea of what kind of pieces you want to add to your wardrobe you can pass that information along!
This month I asked my stylist Diana for a cozy scarf, a vest, a poncho, a winter jacket and shoes. I was a bit particular this month, I guess. lol
Ready to see what Diana sent me?
Item #1: RD Style Tipton Cable Detail Pullover Sweater
Let’s start with my favorite item shall we? I asked Diana for a poncho and she delivered! I love the rich color of it and that it has sleeves!
And believe it or not, I immediately wore this poncho to work the next day for casual Friday. I think this is the first time that I have been so excited about an item that I wore it immediately after getting it.
Cost to Keep: $68.00
Item #2: 41Hawthorn Selfridge Cowl Neck Top
When I first saw this top, I didn’t think it would be a keeper. The material seemed very thin and the shirt seemed a bit ordinary.
But once I tried it on, I realized I was wrong! Although the material is thin, I still felt quite warm. Feeling warm is a requirement at this time of the year for me as I am always cold. I also thought the shirt was far from ordinary and very flattering on me.
Cost to Keep: $48.00
Item #3: Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant
I loved these pants I soon as I saw them. I love the color of them and that I could pair them with many of the other items that came in my fix.
I was surprised that the pants were more of a thick legging material versus being a pair of colored denim. That wasn’t a deal breaker it was just unexpected. Unfortunately the pants were a bit big in the waist. So much so that when I was taking pictures I kept pulling the pants up. If I was already pulling at them for just that short amount of time that I had them on, I knew that they would bother me to wear them for a whole day. Not sure if these just tend to run a bit big or if I need to change my sizing in my style profile.
Cost to Keep: $78.00
Item #4: Octavia Sandra Abstract Print Infinity Scarf
This scarf is so soft and cozy! I can see why Diana sent this to me.
Unfortunately, after looking through all of my winter jackets I’ve realized that the scarf doesn’t match any of them. If the scarf had been a blue color scheme it would have been a perfect addition to my winter wardrobe. So although I love the scarf, I can’t rationalize keeping it if it doesn’t go with any of my jackets.
Cost to Keep: $34.00
Status: Sadly returned
Item #5: Fun2Fun Danika Split Neck Beaded Blouse
Initially I wasn’t too sure about this top. I knew that it definitely wouldn’t keep me warm but I did like the beading as I love fun details.
Once I had it on, I actually liked it and I thought it might be a fun top to wear during the holidays. Unfortunately I didn’t see myself reaching for it after December and now that I am looking at the pictures of me wearing it I feel like it swallows me up. Flowy shirts tend to do to me.
Cost To Keep: $48.00
I have to admit that I am a bit relieved that I didn’t like everything in this fix. Between Disney and some other expenses this month, I couldn’t afford this month to be a 5 or 5. lol I will be back to my normal Stitch Fix routine of getting my fix at the beginning of the month so my next one is just a few weeks away. I am hoping for a fun winter jacket and a dress to wear to holiday parties. I already can’t wait to see what Diana sends me!
