Happy belated Valentine’s Day! I hope you got to spend it with the ones you love the most while wearing some of your favorite Stitch Fix pieces!
I guess you could call this month’s fix my Valentine’s fix even though I got it earlier in the month. I’ve been a bit lazy about getting my review posted. It happens to the best of us right?
In case you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, let me bring you up to speed. Stitch Fix is a monthly subscription service (although you don’t have to get one every month, you pick how often) that sends you clothes and accessories based on a style profile that you fill out. You can keep what you like and send back what you don’t. There is a $20 styling fee but if you keep any of the items, the $20 fee is deducted from the total purchase price of the item(s) you keep. If you keep all 5 of the items from your fix you receive a 25% discount on EVERYTHING. Basically it is like playing dress up as an adult…..and it is both fun and addicting! Every month you can also leave a note for your stylist. So if you have an event that you need some clothes for or if you just have an idea of what kind of pieces you want to add to your wardrobe you can pass that information along!
As you may know, my style goal for the month was to focus on adding a few sexy date night outfits to my wardrobe. I shared this goal with my stylist Diana, so let’s see if she delivered!
Item #1: Bay To Baubles Venezia Metal Tassel Drop Earrings
Unfortunately I knew immediately that these earrings were not going to be a keeper. I am not a fan of gold and silver together and I also found the earrings to be a bit gaudy for my tastes.
Cost to Keep: $28.00
This skirt definitely says sexy and the color would have been perfect for a Valentine’s date with the boyfriend. It doesn’t hurt that the skirt is fleeced lined too as it is definitely still very much winter here.
Despite all of the positives about the skirt, I wasn’t wild about it. The boyfriend liked it because it is very form-fitting but despite his approval, I sent it back.
Cost to Keep: $44.00
Item #3: Skies Are Blue Ramilah Peplum Blouse
This is the top that Diana was referring to from my Pinterest board so I was super stoked to get it! I love peplum tops and I love great detailing so this top seemed perfect for me.
Unfortunately the zipper on the top was awful. It got stuck several times just unzipping it. Before I attempted to put the top on, I zipped it up and down several times and it got stuck consistently each time. Because of the zipper issue I didn’t even bother trying on that top. I figured there was no point in falling in love with something that I wouldn’t be able to keep.
Granted, I could have reached out to customer service about getting a replacement top but I couldn’t guarantee that the replacement top wouldn’t have the same problem.
Cost to Keep: $68.00
Item #4: Just Black Dolce Bootcut Jean
Ok now that we gut the duds of this fix out-of-the-way let’s get to the good stuff! Like these jeans! Aren’t they great?! They are the dressier fancier version of the everyday jean and they fit like a glove. Of course, I had to keep them.
Cost to Keep: $78.00
Item #5: RD Style Paruno Halter Neck Blouse
So this top is a bit out of my comfort zone. I don’t typically like high-necked tops because they make me feel claustrophobic. I also don’t typically like halter style tops on me either. But I like this top and it feels good to like something that is outside of my box.
I feel like the top can be dressed up or down and that it would be good for many different occasions. Not to mention it goes great with my new jeans!
Cost to Keep: $58.00
I definitely think that my stylist Diana sent me a great selection of items for my style goal of the month. Unfortunately not all of the pieces worked for me for various reasons but quite honestly, I am happy with just finding one or two items that I love. I don’t need my fixes to be five of fives instead I need my fixes to be fun and convenient and they have certainly always been just that!
