I have a special connection to THE LION KING. I saw it when I was very pregnant with B, so that was about 9 years ago. At that time, I worked at a hotel that one of the actors stayed at and he gave me a poster board from THE LION KING that was signed by some of the cast members. We had it framed and it served as the theme of B’s nursery which was a jungle theme. That piece is still a much-loved item in our home and I look forward to taking B to see THE LION KING with me again.
THE LION KING is in its 19th year and is one of the most popular stage musicals in the world. The North American tour of THE LION KING have been seen by more than 17 million people in more than 70 cities and it has grossed over $1.2 billion to date. It has won numerous awards including 6 Tony Awards®, the NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical (1998), a Grammy (1999) and many more!
