Chris and I have been feeling the dinner time blues lately, so to spice things up we’ve decided to go on a food subscription box trying spree. The first box we tried is Hello Fresh. We actually used them a couple of years ago and stopped for a reason that I can no longer recall. Lol
Hello Fresh is a weekly meal delivery subscription service with meals ranging in price from $8.75 to $9.90 per person. You can view the menus in advance and select which ones you prefer to receive in your delivery. You can easily skip weeks and you can cancel at any time. If you are interested in trying out Hello Fresh, click here to use my referral link and you will get $40 off your first box!
Here’s what is inside the box! I love how each meal is packaged up, making meal prep and cooking easy.
The first meal we tried was the Butter-Basted Chicken with Peppery Potato Mash and Crispy Carrots. Here’s a peek at the ingredients before the meal was prepared. The carrot was a little under the weather, so we skipped that part of the meal.
Here’s the finished product!
This meal was just okay. It was a bit bland for our liking.
The second meal we tried was the Crispy Cheddar Cheeseburger with Caramelized Onion Jam and Roasted Broccoli.
I skipped on the onion jam because I don’t like onions but overall I thought the burger was good. I mean it’s a burger, it can’t be bad right? I really liked the brocoli, they were seasoned well.
The last meal of our Hello Fresh box was the Thai Beef Skewers aka Satay with Peanut Dipping Sauce, Broccoli, and Jasmine Rice.
Everything about this meal was excellent! It was our favorite one of the box.
Overall we enjoyed our Hello Fresh experience. The meals were easy and relatively quick to prepare. We enjoyed two out of the three meals, although none of them were really too much different from what we already make. We will see how they compare to the other food boxes that we are planning to try. Stay tuned!
