Last week B and I had the pleasure of attending press night for Disney’s THE LION KING at the Detroit Opera House. I knew it was going to be amazing as I had already seen it just over 9 years ago when I was very very pregnant with B. But seeing it this time with B was extra special.
We parked at the Z Lot, of course. It’s our favorite place to park in Detroit and if you haven’t been there yet you need to go! It is an adventure all of its own with so much art to look at. I see something new every time.
The Detroit Opera House is easy on the eyes as well. I hadn’t been there in a long time so it was like seeing it for the first time again. Detroit is full of stunning architecture and I feel fortunate that I get to soak it all in.
I won’t spoil the show for you in case you haven’t already seen it. But I will share a few pictures with you that I was able to take at the beginning and end of the show when they had the lights on.
The costumes and set for the show were out of this world! The acting was great too and of course the story line is one that we all know and love.
The best part of the night for me, was seeing B so enamored with the show. He’s been to many theatre performances but this was the first one that captured his attention from beginning to end.
Another highlight? B told anyone and everyone who would listen that the last time he was at THE LION KING, he was in my belly. That caught quite a few people off guard but he was very proud of his story.
THE LION KING will be at the Detroit Opera House through February 26th. Click here to read the full press release and to get information on tickets. It is a must see!
