Quite some time ago I made the switch from Ipsy Glam Bag to PLAY! by Sephora. Ipsy was fun and I loved their cute little bags but I wasn’t loving the products they were sending me. The PLAY! bags aren’t quite as nice but the products are great which is the most important factor for me when choosing a make-up subscription service.
In case you are not familiar with PLAY! by Sephora, it is a monthly subscription service that sends you 5 deluxe make-up samples and one fragrance sample in a collectible bag for $10 a month. The items are picked for you based upon the profile you fill out when you sign up. Included with your items is a PLAY! BOOK with tips, tricks and how-to advice and a PLAY! PASS to redeem in stores for 50 extra Beauty Insider points and a free one-on-one tutorial. Shipping is free, so the real question is…why haven’t you signed up yet?!
Here’s my February PLAY! box.
What did I get?
NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Bound
I am a big lip gloss user and this one does not disappoint. I love the dusty-rose color and the semi-matte finish.
Sephora Lashcraft Length & Volume Mascara
I am a big mascara junkie as well although I still haven’t found my perfect match despite many many tries. This one is good. I like the wand as it has a flat side and a rounded side. It did a great job of adding length to my lashes but I found it to be lacking in volume. Overall it was decent though and I will definitely use it
Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream
I am not much of an eye cream user but maybe I should be. This made my undereye area look a little brighter and less puffy so it is a win for me!
Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer
My skin is oily and I found this moisturizer to be a little too thick for my liking. It may work better for a different skin type.
Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy in Milkshake
I love Too Faced products so I was really excited to get this but I was not at all prepared for the plumping effect of the lip gloss. My lips were super tingly after using it, so much so that I eventually washed it off. I was so disappointed because the color of the gloss is perfect!
Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence Fragrance
I am more of a body spray kind of person so I typically do not like many of the perfumes that I receive. This one is very earthy and woody and so much not me at all.
Overall I was really happy with my PLAY! box. The pink bag is super cute and I got a couple of items that I really like.
