I have a pretty hefty commute to work every day. It’s about 40 miles one way, so approximately 80 miles round-trip. Five days a week. No, I am not crazy but I do love the company I work for, so the miles are worth it.
Spending that much time on the road means I have a very close relationship with the vehicle I travel in. You might even call it my second home. Recently Toyota helped me step up my commuter game by lending me their 2017 Highlander Hybrid. It was heaven on wheels and I didn’t want to give it back. But I did, reluctantly.
Since I am a self-proclaimed commuter expert, I thought I would break down the top commuter comforts that the Toyota Highlander Hybrid offers.
It’s no surprise that fuel efficiency is at the top of my commuter comforts list. I may drive a lot of miles but I don’t want to feel like I pay for a lot of them. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid gets great gas mileage. It averages 30 miles per gallon on the highway and 28 in the city. Most of my miles are on the expressway so the Toyota Highlander Hybrid is a perfect fit for me.
Toyota Safety Sense
Safety is always at the top of my list, no matter what I do and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid was overflowing with safety features. It has Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Automatic High Beams, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and more! The only thing the Highlander didn’t do for me was drive itself. I am sure it is only a matter of time though.
The Toyota Highlander Hybrid has five USB ports! Three in the front and two in the back. This worked out great when I had the family in the car after work. The Entune Media Bundle was excellent as well. It offered a touch screen display, integrated navigation, lots of apps and my favorite…..SiriusXM Satellite Radio. I spent a lot of my commute listening to the Garth Channel. You all know I love me some Garth Brooks!
Naturally I need to be comfy while driving all of those miles to and from work and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid did not disappoint. The seats were easily adjusted to my preference and they had the option to either be heated or cooled. I took full adventage of the heated seats, let me tell you. Sometimes I even sat in the Highlander for an extra few minutes before going into work or going into the house. Can you blame me?
If you are craving some commuter comforts all of your own, head down to your local Toyotal Dealership and take a Highlander Hybrid. I guarantee you will love it!
