My March Fix is here which means the countdown to the wedding / familymoon is in full swing. Eeek! I am not sure which I am more excited about….my vacation Stitch Fix or the vacation!
In case you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, let me bring you up to speed. Stitch Fix is a monthly subscription service (although you don’t have to get one every month, you pick how often) that sends you clothes, accessories and SHOES based on a style profile that you fill out. (There is also a men’s version now! See Chris’ latest review here.) You can keep what you like and send back what you don’t. There is a $20 styling fee but if you keep any of the items, the $20 fee is deducted from the total purchase price of the item(s) you keep. If you keep all 5 of the items from your fix you receive a 25% discount on EVERYTHING. Basically it is like playing dress up as an adult…..and it is both fun and addicting! Every month you can also leave a note for your stylist. So if you have an event that you need some clothes for or if you just have an idea of what kind of pieces you want to add to your wardrobe you can pass that information along!
This month I asked my stylist Britt, for a vacation fix. I can hardly wait to see what she sent.
Item #1: Skies Are Blue Maye Crochet Detail Dress
My goal for vacation packing is to take items that are easy, fun and fashionable. This dress definitely fits the criteria as all I have to do is add shoes (and a fun hat?) to make it a complete outfit.
While I love the color of the dress and the crochet detailing, the dress didn’t call out to me as must-have for vacation or for my closet. It may be perfect for yours though!
Cost to Keep: $68.00
Item #2: Level 99 Cindie Printed Linen Short
I’ve received a pair of these shorts in a previous fix but in a different pattern. Like the last pair, these ones also seem to run a size too big. While they were a bit big on me, the design and the colors were right up my alley. I paired the shorts with a hot pink shirt I received in a previous fix to bring out the slight pink color in the shorts.
Cost to Keep: $78.00
Item #3: Skies Are Blue McClain Crochet Panel Knit Top
This seems to be the shirt version of the Skies Are Blue dress. Again, I love the navy blue color and the crochet detailing. The fit and the fabric were perfect for me as well.
I have a similar top in my closet already so I opted to send this one back. It’s super cute though!
Cost to Keep: $54.00
Item #4: Yumi Kim Lexey Silk Wrap Dress
Okay ladies, I saved the best for last! Well, almost last. I received a Yumi Kim dress in a previous fix that I fell in love with but didn’t keep because it was an investment piece that I wasn’t able to invest in at the time. So I was very excited to find this Yumi Kim wrap dress in this month’s fix!
Everything about this dress is fabulous: the colors, the print, the fabric and the fit! And most importantly how I feel when I am wearing it. It is the perfect dress to twirl around in!
It also seems like the perfect dress to splurge on for our vacation.
Cost to Keep: $194.00
Item #5: Franco Sarto Alora Strappy Sandal
Britt recommended I pair these sandals with the Yumi Kim dress. You can see in those pictures that they do look great together.
The sandals are incredibly comfy and they would be a keeper if I wasn’t already splurging on the dress. So they have to go back but I am adding them onto my short list of essential items for this upcoming summer. If you get a pair you may want to go down a half-size as I found my normal size to be a smidge too big.
Cost to Keep: $79.00
This fix has me counting down the days till we head south for vacation. I absolutely can not wait to wear the Yumi Kim dress. It is gorgeous.
