It’s the end of the world as we know it. And I don’t feel fine.
That’s how I have been feeling for while. Since Novemberish or so. It shows in my blogging. Or my lack of blogging.
While it may not *really* be the end of the world it sure seems that way with all of the flooding, hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, terrorism, nazis and attack on human rights / equality. (Did I miss anything? I expected the list to be longer.)
It’s hard for me to put all of that aside and talk to you about all of the running I am not doing (yes, you read that right), the cute clothes and accessories I’m wearing, my blended family struggles (I really loathe the term blended but that’s a post for another time) and other items that seem miniscule in the grand scheme of the shape of the world right now.
But we are in this together right?
And we can do hard things.
And we can also do fun and easy things.
And we owe it to ourselves to allow both sides of the dichotomy to exist in our lives. We can acknowledge the atrocities in the world and work actively to right the wrongs that we see; while at the same time doing fun things that restore the light inside of us, like gushing over the great top you just received from your Stitch Fix stylist. (Okay maybe that comment about the great top is just me. But whatever that is for you, do it and gush over it without apologies) Doing the things we love does not diminish the hardships that exists in the world instead it is an act of self-care that allows us to replenish our spirit so we can continue to rise and fight the good fight. Let’s rise together.
