Full Disclosure: I was given a copy of the book Overthinking the Marathon to read and review but all opinions are my own!
I love reading and I love running so it is only natural that I read books about running! A couple of months ago, I was contacted by Ray Charbonneau (a runner, blogger and author) to see if I would be interested in reading and reviewing his book, Overthinking the Marathon. Of course, I said yes!
The book follows Ray on his 17 week journey of preparing for his 21st Marathon! Yes, 21st! Quite impressive if you ask me. The book is an easy read and it makes you feel like you are right along Ray while he completes his marathon training and the marathon itself! The best part of the book for me, was how real it was! Ray revealed the good, the bad and the ugly of his training which is just the way it should be because we all know that nothing is perfect and nothing goes 100% according to plan. Ray also revealed his training tips and techniques that would certainly help any runner who is training for a marathon or a race of any distance.
I haven’t run a marathon yet….but it is on my bucket list and after reading Overthinking the Marathon I have an even greater desire to run one!
If you are looking for a great Summer read, I highly recommend this book. To purchase a copy or to get more information on the book and Ray Charbonneau, click here!
Ray has a new book coming out soon that will be helping support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing through The One Fund Boston. Stay tuned for that book too!
