My blog’s Facebook page is getting ever so close to having 200 likes!!! I am flattered to have that many people willing to be subjected to my random thoughts and blog posts.
As excited as I am about hitting the big 200, I am naturally thinking about how awesome it would be to hit 300! It’s no secret that I love a challenge and am constantly striving to improve upon the here and now. And besides, 300 is a great number. I mean who could forget this epic movie…
Ok, maybe that’s not the best example. But you can see how 300 could be a pretty fierce group of people. And I want my blog’s Facebook page to be fierce!
As a side note, did you know that there is a workout called the 300 workout that is designed to make you look like you stepped off of the set of the movie? It’s true. And it’s pretty bad ass. Check it out by clicking here.
I know what some of you are thinking. When I hit the magical 300 likes, I should do the 300 workout. But let’s be real. Did you actually go LOOK at the workout? Go look and then come back.
Ok. Now that you actually looked at it, I think we both can agree that I am not quite at the 300 workout level. However, when I do hit the 300 mark on my blog’s Facebook page I will do my own 300 workout. I will do 100 push-ups, 100 crunches and 100 squats. All in one day!
So what are you waiting for? Share my page with your family and friends. The quicker I get to 300 likes, the quicker you can inflict pain happiness upon me!
If you are on Facebook, then I am sure that you are well aware of the changes that have occurred recently. If you are not on Facebook or you have somehow managed to avoid seeing the changes, click here for a rundown of what has changed.
Personally, I am okay with the changes. The way I look at it is, Facebook is a service that I get to use for free (and yes, it is still free and according to Facebook it always will be), so if Facebook wants to make some changes, who am I to say that they shouldn’t? And let’s be real, Facebook is VERY low on my list of things that I need to worry and stress about. However, judging by the status updates I have been seeing, you would think that the Facebook changes have greatly impacted some people’s lives in a negative way. I have seen statuses ranging from confusion over the changes to extreme anger over the updates. I have even seen several updates from friends that say that they are going to delete their Facebook accounts in retaliation of the changes. (I don’t think Facebook has anything to worry about as I have yet to see anyone follow through on that threat.) It’s getting to the point that I don’t even want to check my Facebook because quite frankly, I am tired of everyone complaining about the changes. I can only imagine how people are going to react when Facebook rolls out their next round of updates. (Yes, more changes are coming. Click here to learn more.)
Don’t get me wrong, I certainly understand that some people do not like change. I am often a member of the ‘don’t like change’ group. But come on, it’s just Facebook! It’s really not worth getting so upset about. Trust me, there are worse things happening in the world that warrant your attention and anger. Just in case you need some ideas to divert you from your Facebook frustrations, here are a few things that come to mind.
The effects of ignorance and bullying. Have you heard the story of Jamey Rodemeyer? Click here to do so. It is truly heartbreaking and tragic.
Michael Vick being allowed to continue playing in the NFL and benefit financially from sponsors, meanwhile my blogger friend lost a sponsor for her blog because of this post she wrote about him. Doesn’t seem right to me.
That Garth Brooks hasn’t released any concert dates for December yet! Okay, maybe that one only pertains to me, but if you want to help me encourage him to have a concert in Vegas on December 3, 2011, I would be forever grateful!
Casey Anthony. Need I say more?
Now that I have you thinking about real issues, what do you really think about the Facebook updates? What is you reaction to the REAL issues I listed? What real issue do you think warrants people’s attention?
