We Are Moving!

If you saw this post from yesterday then you have probably already guessed that Little B and I are moving. And that is correct! But what you may not have guessed is that we are moving in with Chris!

That’s some big news, right!?!

We are both super excited about it and all of our kids are too! (Chris has two boys.) As you can imagine we have lots and lots of things to get done before the move. Chris has to make room for two more people, I need to pack, move things that we won’t immediately be needing to a storage unit and many more things I am probably not even realizing right now! Eeeek! The plan is for us to move into Chris’s house for a few months while we save up some money to get a house that will better accommodate our new blended family. In the mean time we will all have to adjust to our new life together which includes making small sacrifices to make our new living arrangement work. I am sure that there will be bumps along the way but we are ready to face them and are confident that we are making the right decision for everyone involved.

Despite our current excitement about the changes, I do have to be honest about something. A week ago or so, I stressed myself out unnecessarily by playing the what if game. You know what I am talking about right? The what if game goes a little something like this:

- What if we don’t like living together?

- What if the kids don’t get along?

- What if Chris drives me crazy?

- What if I miss my personal space / me time?

- What if Little B doesn’t adjust?

- What if it turns out to be a bad decision?

You get the idea.

I am a worrier by nature and have a tendency to over think things. (Poor Chris!) But the reality of the situation is that the issues that I was worrying about don’t currently exist and may not ever exist. I would be short changing myself to allow those fears and any other fears to guide my decisions. If any of my worries come true, we will just deal with them when they do. Life is all about taking chances and this feels too right to not take a chance on it!

We are going to be like The Brady Bunch! Now how do I get an Alice??

Any moving tips for me or tips on successfully merging two families together? I would appreciate both!

Fun at the Circus!

Before I get to all the fun that Little B and I had at the circus, I feel the need to say that I have mixed feelings about the circus. Not just this circus in particular but every circus that has animals in it. I am a big animal lover and I can’t help but feel that perhaps the animals would be happier in their own habitat as opposed to being in captivity. It’s also a bit strange to me that the animals are forced to perform for us so that we can be entertained. Perhaps the animals actually do enjoy performing and love being part of the circus. I guess we will never really know for sure!

Now that I have that off my chest, let’s get down to the fun! This was Little B’s first time at a circus and he was super excited to see the big tents when we pulled in!

Inside we saw some animals!

We didn't ride the elephant but lots of others idd!

They also had a "petting zoo" area where we feed these guys come carriots.

I enjoyed the animals but Little B was more interested in this!

I LOVE that smile on his face!

Next up was the main event, the actual circus!

We also saw lots of acrobatic acts which Little B was in awe over and I was feeling all mom-like towards the performers as there were no safety harnesses or safety nets! Eeeek!

Little B greatly enjoyed his first circus and I enjoyed spending some quality time with him!

So how do you feel about the circus? Are you a fan?

Little B: 5 Years: 20 Questions

543804_10151254201718723_1952212513_n

While internet surfing the other day I came across this post from a blogger that asked her daughter 20 questions on her 3rd birthday. The blogger planned to ask her daughter the same 20 questions on each subsequent birthday and although Little B’s birthday was a couple of months ago, I thought this would be fun to do with him. So here are the 20 questions with Little B’s answers!

1. What is your favorite color? Red (His favorite Power Ranger is the red one. Coincidence? If think not.)
2. What is your favorite toy? Power Rangers
3. What is your favorite fruit? Pineapple
4. What is your favorite TV show? Power Rangers
5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? Grilled Cheese (I thought he would say mac and cheese but he had just eaten grilled cheese, so maybe it was fresh in his mind.)
6. What is your favorite outfit? Spiderman shirt
7. What is your favorite game? Video games
8. What is your favorite snack? Hot dogs
9. What is your favorite animal? Monster
10. What is your favorite song? Power Ranger song
11. What is your favorite book? Elmo
12. Who is your best friend? You (Mommy. Awww)
13. What is your favorite cereal? Apple Jacks & Froot Loops
14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? Bikes
15. What is your favorite drink? Kool Aid
16. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas (It really is, he talks about it ALL the time.)
17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? Music
18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Cereal
19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? Hot dogs
20. What do you want to be when you grow up? Power Ranger

I love all of his answers and look forward to seeing how they change as he gets older! Hopefully I remember to do this each year, can I make it your job to remind me? ;)

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy belated Valentine’s Day everyone! <3

I think you all know who I spent my day with but just in case you forgot, here’s a little reminder.

IMAG0038

Cutest Valentine ever right?

Yesterday my Facebook and Twitter feeds were filled with an equal combination of those celebrating Valentine’s Day and those who were not. I fall on the side of those who celebrate it. I wholeheartedly believe that you shouldn’t wait for a special occasion or holiday to tell or show the people in your life how much you love them but I also see nothing wrong with taking advantage of special days or holidays to make someone’s day extra special!

To make the day extra special for my little Valentine, I surprised him with this.

The mailbox had some of his favorite sweets and a cute little stuffed animal. The card had a knock-knock joke on the inside which was perfect for Little B because he LOVES knock-knock jokes. Want to hear it?

Knock-knock?

Who’s there?

Jamaica.

Jamaica who?

Jamaica me smile every time I see you!

Feel free to use that knock-knock joke anytime you want!

Little B also got this as a surprise.

How is this a present for him, you might ask? Well his little dresser and lower closet rack allows him to pick out his clothes all by himself. For a five-year old, there is no better gift than being more independent! Technically it was a gift for me too. I love it when things are organized and now I no longer have to stand at Little B’s closet and show him every piece of clothing so he can decide what he wants to wear for the day!

Now I want to know how your Valentine’s Day was! And what side are you on? Do you celebrate Valentine’s day or not?

Happy Birthday Little B!

That’s right, today is Little B’s Birthday! And it is not just any birthday, it is his 5th birthday!

We celebrated his special day over the weekend with a party at Pump It Up! Nothing says Happy Birthday like bouncing and sliding with the people who mean the most to you, right? We had so MUCH fun!

Brennen & I having fun on the slide!

Most of the party people!

After wearing ourselves out in the bounce house room we moved to the party room where we devoured pizza, a giant cookie and ice cream.

He's about to make a wish!

He’s about to make a wish!

I have to pat myself on the back because I MADE the giant birthday cookie! From SCRATCH! It was so tasty and now I feel all domestic-like! Click here for the recipe, you will love it!

You know you wanted a close up of the giant cookie!

Little B got a lot of great gifts. Most of them were some sort of Power Ranger type toy as that is his current obsession. He will be getting his present from me later today so that one will still have to remain a secret. Maybe I will post the present as the tomorrow’s Wordless Wednesday post!

The best part of Little B’s Birthday Party? He hasn’t stopped talking about how much fun he had! :)
